Hanguangmian Expressway Expansion Project

Project Period: 2024–2028

Project Manager: Liu Juan

Client: Shudao Group, Sichuan Road & Bridge, China Railway No.5 Engineering Group

Equipments Supplied: Double-line Steel Bar Sawing, Threading & Grinding Production Line; Fully Automatic Reinforcing Cage Welding Station

The Hanguangmian Expressway Expansion Project is a key section of the G5 Beijing-Kunming Expressway, which is part of the national “Ten Vertical & Ten Horizontal” comprehensive transportation corridor system. It also serves as the core northbound corridor from Sichuan Province to other provinces.

By adopting the double-line steel bar sawing and threading production line together with the fully automatic reinforcing cage welding station, the processing time for a single reinforcing cage has been shortened from 2 hours to 0.75 hours, and the overall construction efficiency has been doubled (increased by 100%).

Compared with the uneven quality of manual processing in traditional steel yards and the drawbacks of complex procedures and low efficiency in placing stiffening rings in previous-generation cage rolling welding machines, this production line adopts an innovative production mode of “one-step forming of the framework with main bars and stiffening rings”, which greatly improves the processing efficiency of the reinforcing cage framework. Meanwhile, the spiral winding of the cage is welded by a fully automatic welding robot, further boosting the overall processing efficiency by nearly 100% compared with the previous generation.

The application of this production line has driven China’s reinforcing cage manufacturing industry into the intelligent era.
